EDITORIAL CHARTER / 01

Independent by method.
Open by design.

Future of Code documents developments in software practice without acting as a promoter for any tool, company, ideology or technological future.

01

We distinguish claims.

Observation, measured result, interpretation, scenario and forecast are different kinds of statement. Readers should never need to guess which one they are reading.

02

We disclose limitations.

Population, method, timing, technical version and source incentives belong alongside any strong conclusion.

03

We welcome dispute.

Contradictory results, methodological critiques and attribution corrections are research inputs. Submissions are moderated, verified and acted on according to the evidence.

04

We publish revisions.

Substantive corrections should identify the edition and change. A revision record is part of the work—not an admission that a publication should have pretended to be final.
